On 23rd April 2005, the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Camp Lindele a lime tree is planted in the grounds of the Police Training School.
An official party from Biberach headed by the Mayor visits Guernsey to attend the celebrations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Liberation. At the Island Service at Beau Sejour Thomas Fettback is presented with his honorary OBE by Her Majesty the Queen. Members of the Biberach Friends of Guernsey are hosted by the GFBA.
A Ladies’ College student attends the intensive German Course in Biberach which Biberach offers to youngsters from all its five partner towns every year.
Several “Biberach Babies” (Guernsey people who were born in Biberach in 1945 and celebrate their 60th birthday this year) take part in the Schützenfest Parade.
Chris and Jose Day and other family members make a trip to Biberach and re-trace the route to Switzerland taken in 1941 by Chris Day’s uncle Michael Duncan who was a PoW in Biberach and managed to escape through a tunnel the PoWs had dug.
A group of 10 Police Cadets and 5 Police Officers from Biberach visit Guernsey to present a model of Camp Lindele which the Cadets had built in their own time. The group is hosted by members of the Guernsey Police.
