Biberachers in Guernsey for 70th Liberation Day
We have been honoured to have a visit from a group of 30 from Biberach, Baden-Wurttemberg over the Liberation weekend, including Oberbürgermeister Norbert and Frau Zeidler, Hubert Hagel, Pastor Eberhard Goehner, Rotraud Rebmann and Helga Reiser. After a gruelling 26 hour road trip to get here, thanks to delays on the ironically named Liberation ferry, we hope the sun will shine on the rest of their visit.
On Liberation Day, the party attended a special Service of Commemoration & Celebration at Footes Lane, in the presence of HRH, Sophie Countess of Wessex. Later that day, Guernsey¹s Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas, was presented with a beautiful framed print of Biberach by the visiting Oberbürgermeister, Norbert Zeidler.
