Launch of Guernsey‘s Young Ambassadors
The Guernsey Young Ambassadors' scheme was officially launched at St James, St Peter Port, Guernsey, on Tuesday afternoon, 7th February 2012, when Guernsey‘s Bailiff, Sir Geoffrey Rowland, presented each of the 8 selected Young Ambassadors with a branded sweater, personal certificate and Deutsche/Guernsey friendship pin badge.
Ken Wheeler, team leader and organiser, introduced the scheme and the reasons behind it, whilst the principal sponsor, Andreas Tautscher (in his role as CEO of Deutsche Bank in the Channel Islands), also spoke about the importance of developing Guernsey‘s important relationship with Biberach through such initiatives – particularly a younger age group.
The Guernsey Friends of Biberach were represented at the launch by Tom Remfrey, Irene Harvey, Rev Peter Lane, David Skillett and his sister, Gloria Dudley-Owen, and Chris Betley.
