‘The Story of Guernsey’ now available in German
The Story of Guernsey has just been published in German translation this month. It has been Guernsey Museum’s best-selling book, with over 6,000 copies sold in the English and French editions.
Written by Dr Jason Monaghan, the book is extensively illustrated with objects and artworks from the Museum’s collection. It takes the reader through 12,000 years of the islands’ history and prehistory.
Dr Monaghan said, ‘The book is aimed at tourists, older school children and the general reader who wants an introductory history of the Bailiwick. Its very pleasing that we now have a German edition to offer.’
A copy was presented recently to the German Honorary Consul, Chris Betley.
Mr Betley commented, ‘I know at first hand – my wife is a tour guide – the fascination and attraction that Guernsey has to many Europeans, particularly from Germany. This translated edition will be especially welcome to those wanting to know the true story…’.
Available now at £5.99 from Guernsey Museum at Candie.
